A physician-planned taper, a dietitian and trainer to protect your muscle, and a HYROX race to train for. Led by obesity medicine physician Dr. Angela Tran, DO.
Labs and a medical evaluation first. If medication is right for you, Dr. Tran starts low, adjusts at every check-in, and pairs it with a plan for eating and training.
Text us about starting →Already on one, from us or from an app? We plan the taper, protect your muscle, and coach you weekly through the months when regain usually happens.
Text us about coming off →A race date gives the weight loss a finish line, and the training builds the muscle that keeps it off. Scaled from wherever your fitness is today.
Text us about HYROX →Dr. Tran opened Med-Fit in 2012 after years as an internist watching what excess weight does to the body. She built the practice she wanted for her own patients: a doctor, a dietitian, a health coach and a trainer working from one plan.
She prescribes GLP-1s every week, and she'll tell you the same thing she tells every patient: you can get healthy with or without medication. The medication is a tool. The habits are what you keep.
In a major trial, people who stopped semaglutide regained about two-thirds of the weight they'd lost within a year.

In a smaller study, patients who tapered off semaglutide over about nine weeks, with diet and exercise coaching, kept a stable weight for the next six months.

Most regain happens in the first months after the last dose, when appetite comes back and muscle lost along the way slows your metabolism. That's the part we plan for.
HYROX is eight 1 km runs, each followed by a workout station. It's built for ordinary people, it rewards consistency over talent, and a race date is a better reason to keep training than a number on a scale. Denver hosts its first HYROX this November.
We don't bill insurance. Most patients pay with an FSA or HSA card. Medication memberships need a 3- or 6-month commitment. Visits, check-ins and coaching can all be done online.
For people who already have their eating and training in place and need the medical piece.
Everything in RX Plus for six months, long enough to reach a dose that works and plan what comes after.
Dr. Tran plus a registered dietitian, health coach and certified trainer, meeting with you every week.
Labs for insulin resistance, thyroid and more, plus your full history and an honest look at your week.
Dr. Tran decides whether medication belongs in it. Your dietitian and trainer turn it into meals and workouts that fit.

Maintenance, a taper if you're on medication, and a goal to train for so the habits outlast the program.

Appetite and cravings usually return within weeks, and in trials most people regained a large share of the weight within a year of stopping. Blood sugar can also rise, especially with diabetes or prediabetes. At Med-Fit, stopping is planned with your physician and coached week by week.
It is possible, but most experts don’t recommend it, because appetite can return quickly and blood sugar can swing. A gradual taper with your prescriber is the usual approach. Dr. Tran plans tapers for patients whether they started with us or elsewhere.
Tapering usually means lowering the dose or spacing injections further apart, for example every 10 to 14 days instead of weekly, over several weeks or months. Protein, strength training and eating structure are built up at the same time. The right pace depends on your dose, history and labs, so your prescriber should set it.
GLP-1 medications don’t cause true withdrawal or dependence. What people notice is the medication’s effects wearing off: more hunger, more food noise and faster digestion. Semaglutide takes about five weeks to fully leave the body, so these changes build gradually.
Eat enough protein at every meal and do strength training at least two to three times a week. Without both, a meaningful part of the weight lost can be muscle, which makes regain more likely. Every Med-Fit plan includes protein targets and a training plan.
Many obesity medicine guidelines suggest roughly 1.0 to 1.5 grams per kilogram of ideal body weight per day, spread across meals. Smaller appetites make that hard, so planning matters more than willpower. Your dietitian sets a target that fits your labs and your week.
Nausea, reflux, diarrhea, constipation and an upset stomach are the most common, especially when the dose goes up. Starting low and increasing slowly usually helps. Dr. Tran adjusts your dose at every check-in.
HYROX training combines running with strength work like sled pushes, lunges and wall balls, which builds muscle while burning energy. It is scalable for beginners, and a race date gives you a reason to keep training once the weight is off. Our trainers scale HYROX programming to where your fitness is today.
